President Mnangagwa led the nation in a somber ceremony. Three national heroes and a heroine were laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre in Harare on Monday, marking the second time during his tenure that multiple heroes were buried on the same day.

Brigadier General Shadreck Vezha, a distinguished officer in the Zimbabwe Defence Forces; Nyasha Nash Dzimiri, a revered veteran of the liberation struggle and intelligence director in the President's Department; and Grace Tsitsi Jadagu, a dedicated Zanu PF cadre, war collaborator, former legislator, and councillor, were honoured with the highest accolade for their unwavering dedication and patriotism.

In his eulogy, President Mnangagwa called on the nation to emulate the exemplary patriotism displayed by the departed heroes. "I extend my deepest heartfelt condolences to the Vezha, Dzimiri, and Jadagu families on behalf of the Government, Zanu PF, my family, and myself," he expressed.

This solemn occasion marked the second triple burial under Mnangagwa's presidency, following a similar event in 2021 that honored prominent figures like Minister Sibusiso Busi Moyo, Minister Dr Joel Biggie Matiza, and Major-General Paradzai Zimondi.

Notably, Sibusiso Moyo was among those previously honoured, who played a pivotal role in announcing the historic 2017 coup that ended President Robert Mugabe's long rule.

President Mnangagwa addressed the gathered mourners, urging unity and tranquillity amidst challenges posed by external forces. "In the face of neo-imperialist threats, we must collectively defend our motherland and strive for a prosperous future," he emphasized.

He reiterated the nation's commitment to Vision 2030, emphasizing the importance of economic modernization and industrialization. "As we pursue our national development objectives, challenges will arise, but our resolve remains strong," Mnangagwa affirmed.

Concluding his remarks, the President called for unity and collective effort in nation-building. "The responsibility to develop our country lies with each one of us," he concluded, underscoring the importance of solidarity and peace in Zimbabwe's journey towards prosperity.
